Heavy Equipment Instructor - Part-Time The Equity Center Dayton, OH Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Instructional hands-on activities Skill-building exercises for test preparation Collaboration Heavy equipment operation Curriculum development Bachelor's degree Open communication (faculty and staff relations techniques) Teaching experience within manufacturing industry Teaching Full Job Description The Equity Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Heavy Equipment Instructor to lead our NCCER and OSHA operator training courses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training students on operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials and products within a facility. This role requires teaching & training skills, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work express and convey the methods to fully operate heavy equipment. Demonstrated knowledge Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials and products. Operate skid-steerer, Bobcat or backhoe using machinery and simulation equipment Ensure accurate shipping and receiving of goods, maintaining proper documentation. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety compliance with OSHA regulations. Assist in materials handling, including heavy lifting and moving items throughout the warehouse. Collaborate with Career Development Director to optimize classed and manage student progress. Skills Proven experience in training others on forklift operations as well as other heavy equipment. Proven experience in curriculum delivery or training. Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation. Experience in the logistics and manufacturing industry within a warehouse setting. Knowledge of materials handling techniques, including safe lifting practices. Previous experience as a supervisor is a plus.
