Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Specialized Concrete Superintendent to lead and manage complex concrete construction projects. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of specialized concrete work on large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction management, team supervision, and technical expertise in concrete operations. Your leadership will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Duties Lead and supervise concrete crews, ensuring efficient execution of specialized concrete tasks such as formwork, reinforcement, pouring, finishing, and curing processes. Develop detailed project schedules using construction management software like Primavera P6 and HeavyBid to coordinate concrete activities with overall project timelines. Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of design intent. Manage subcontractors and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety regulations including OSHA standards. Monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship; conduct inspections using tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary. Oversee safety protocols on-site, ensuring adherence to federal construction safety regulations and managing safety training for all team members. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to facilitate clear communication regarding project progress, schedule adjustments, and potential issues. Manage project budgets related to concrete materials, labor costs, and equipment; track expenses meticulously for cost control purposes. Supervise construction site activities daily, managing teams effectively while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular reviews of construction drawings and schedules to resolve conflicts or discrepancies before they impact progress. Skills Extensive experience with heavy civil or commercial concrete construction projects; proven success supervising teams in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera, Management tools like Management or Management Systems (e.g., Management), Construction scheduling expertise. Strong understanding of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety requirements; ability to enforce safety protocols rigorously. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and conducting blueprint reading with precision. Excellent project scheduling capabilities with experience managing complex pipelines of work across multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability in managing budgets, contracts, and procurement processes effectively within the scope of commercial construction projects. Effective communication skills for managerial roles—able to lead teams confidently while maintaining clear dialogue with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of construction safety management practices; experience supervising crews on large-scale projects with strict quality control standards. Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; ability to oversee technical aspects of concrete curing systems or embedded electrical components when required.
