This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills who wants to build a career in construction and project management. EC Concrete specializes in heavy civil, water/wastewater, infrastructure, and complex structural concrete construction . Our projects include water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, headworks structures, clarifiers, process basins, large foundations, elevated structures, tall cast-in-place walls, and other technically demanding reinforced concrete work. Prior concrete or water/wastewater experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train and develop the right person. What matters most is that you are technically capable, comfortable working with drawings and construction documents, organized, willing to learn, and interested in becoming a strong construction professional.
COMPENSATION
$45,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and ability. EC Concrete is willing to invest in the right candidate and provide hands-on training and exposure to complex construction projects. Entry-level candidates with strong technical ability are encouraged to apply, and candidates with relevant construction experience may qualify toward the upper end of the range.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Project Engineer will work directly with EC Concrete's Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to help plan and execute our projects. This is not simply a paperwork position. You will be expected to understand the work, understand the drawings, spend time in the field, and learn how complex concrete structures go from plans to actual construction.
Responsibilities will include:
Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements Preparing, submitting, and tracking project submittals Preparing and tracking RFIs Reviewing shop drawings and product data Using AutoCAD to develop and modify project drawings and details Using SketchUp to create 3D models, construction visuals, sequencing plans, and project details Developing concrete lift drawings, pour plans, and other construction coordination drawings Assisting with formwork layouts and concrete sequencing Reviewing reinforcing steel drawings and coordination requirements Identifying conflicts between structural, architectural, civil, mechanical, and process drawings Reviewing embeds, sleeves, penetrations, blockouts, and other items that must be coordinated before concrete placement Performing material takeoffs and quantity calculations Assisting with concrete quantity calculations and pour planning Tracking materials, equipment, and procurement Assisting with project schedules and short-term look-ahead planning Maintaining project documentation and drawing logs Tracking revisions and ensuring current drawings are being used Assisting with change order documentation and cost tracking Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors Assisting Project Managers with meeting preparation and project correspondence Communicating with field leadership to resolve drawing and coordination issues Visiting active jobsites and developing a practical understanding of how the work is constructed Supporting Project Managers throughout the complete life cycle of a project
TECHNICAL SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Candidates should have experience or demonstrated proficiency with: AutoCAD SketchUp Reading construction drawings Reading project specifications Understanding construction details Submittals and construction documentation Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook Experience with the following is beneficial but not required: Bluebeam Revu Procore or similar construction-management software Revit Scheduling software Quantity takeoffs Structural drawings Civil drawings Reinforcing steel drawings Concrete construction Formwork systems
YOU DO NOT NEED TO ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT CONCRETE
We are willing to educate and develop the right Project Engineer. You do not need years of water/wastewater or structural concrete experience before joining EC Concrete.

We want someone who asks questions, wants to understand why something is being built a certain way, and is willing to get out of the office and see how the drawings become an actual structure.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR A
strong candidate may be: A recent or upcoming Construction Management graduate A Civil Engineering graduate interested in construction An Engineering Technology graduate An Architectural or CAD/design professional looking to move into construction A Project Coordinator ready for more technical responsibility Someone with construction experience who wants to move into Project Engineering Someone with strong AutoCAD or SketchUp skills who wants to build a career in construction A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience and demonstrated technical ability will also be considered.

THIS IS A CAREER-PATH POSITION
We do not view the Project Engineer position as a permanent administrative role. Our goal is to develop strong Project Engineers into construction leaders. A successful career path at EC Concrete can include: Project Engineer → Assistant Project Manager → Project Manager → Senior Project Manager As your knowledge, ability, and responsibility increase, we want your position and compensation to grow with you. FIELD EXPERIENCE MATTERS
We believe strong Project Engineers need to understand more than what is shown on a computer screen. You will spend time on active projects learning: How formwork is assembled How reinforcing steel is installed How concrete placements are planned and executed How crews sequence work How drawings translate into field conditions How constructability issues are identified and solved How production affects project cost and schedule How decisions made in the office affect the people performing the work in the field The goal is for you to understand both the technical side and the construction side of the project.
