Job Description
Job Description We are looking for an experienced concrete contractor/flatwork crew for the foundation and basement concrete on a new-construction walkout-basement home in Union City, MI. The project consists of poured concrete footings, 8" thick basement foundation walls 8' high, and a 4" basement slab. Scope of Work Excavation, grading, and compaction for footings, foundation walls, and basement slab. Install and compact gravel base where needed. Form and pour continuous footings with rebar per structural drawings. Form and pour 8" concrete basement/foundation walls with vertical rebar per structural drawings. Install foundation drain (French drain) at basement wall footing. Apply damp-proofing/waterproofing to the exterior of the basement walls before backfill. Pour 4" reinforced basement slab on grade over compacted gravel base. Screed and level basement slab. Remove forms and complete final grading around foundation. Clean up all construction debris upon completion. Contractor Requirements Previous experience with residential foundation walls and basement slabs — must be able to show past work. Must have the necessary tools and equipment, including formwork for basement walls. Will need to be able to work with the plumber's timeline for underground plumbing needs. Experience applying below-grade waterproofing/damp-proofing systems. Must be able to provide a crew capable of completing the project. Must be reliable and able to complete the work professionally. Hoping to be ready for concrete starting the week of 9/5.
