Full-Time About the Opportunity We are partnering with an established commercial concrete contractor seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale commercial and industrial concrete projects. The company performs complex concrete construction throughout the Midwest, with work spanning structural concrete, slab-on-grade, paving, and tilt-up construction. Projects support major markets including data centers and IT infrastructure, industrial and manufacturing facilities, transportation and logistics, commercial agriculture, and power and energy infrastructure. This is a hands-on field leadership position for someone who understands concrete construction from the ground up and can effectively manage crews, schedules, safety, quality, and day-to-day project execution. Responsibilities Lead and manage daily field operations for commercial and industrial concrete projects.
Supervise concrete crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and onsite activities.
Plan and coordinate concrete scopes including foundations, structural concrete, slab-on-grade, paving, and related concrete work.
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project plans.
Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, concrete deliveries, inspections, and sequencing to maintain project schedules.
Monitor productivity and proactively address field issues that could impact schedule or budget.
Ensure concrete placement and finishing work meets project specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and ensure crews follow established safety procedures.
Coordinate closely with project managers, general contractors, owners, inspectors, and other trades.
Document project progress and communicate field conditions, schedule changes, and potential issues to project leadership. Qualifications 5+ years of concrete construction experience, ideally with experience leading crews or managing field operations.
Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial concrete construction methods and sequencing.
Experience with structural concrete and/or large slab-on-grade projects strongly preferred.
Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, elevations, and construction schedules.
Proven ability to supervise field personnel and coordinate multiple scopes of work.
Strong understanding of construction safety and quality-control practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with field crews, project management, subcontractors, and clients.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
