Job Summary West Coral Communications is seeking an experienced Vermeer PTX44 Vibratory Plow Operator / Foreman to lead an underground telecommunications construction crew. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a Vermeer PTX44 pedestrian vibratory plow , reading construction prints, and managing daily field operations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate equipment, direct crew activities, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain a strong commitment to safety while meeting production goals. A CDL is not required for this position. Responsibilities Safely operate a Vermeer PTX44 pedestrian vibratory plow to install underground telecommunications conduit and fiber infrastructure. Lead and supervise daily activities of underground construction crews. Read and interpret utility prints, construction plans, and locate markings. Coordinate with utility locators, inspectors, project managers, customers, and other contractors to ensure safe and efficient project completion. Ensure all work complies with company standards, customer specifications, and OSHA safety requirements. Verify proper installation depths, conduit placement, and restoration of disturbed areas. Operate additional equipment as needed, including mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, compact loaders, and support equipment. Maintain accurate daily production reports, equipment inspections, and job documentation. Train and mentor crew members while promoting a positive, productive work environment. Troubleshoot field issues and make sound decisions to keep projects on schedule. Perform routine maintenance, daily inspections, and minor repairs on equipment. Assist with hand digging, utility potholing, conduit placement, and restoration when equipment operation is not required. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience operating a Vermeer PTX44 or similar pedestrian vibratory cable plow. Previous experience as a Foreman or Crew Leader in underground utility or telecommunications construction preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is not required. Strong knowledge of underground utility construction practices and utility locating requirements. Ability to read construction prints, staking sheets, and utility locate markings. Experience installing telecommunications conduit and fiber optic infrastructure preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safe excavation practices. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel when required. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber optic construction projects. Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and other underground construction equipment. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. First Aid/CPR Certification.
