Job Description
Asphalt Paving Laborer / Raker GradeTec LLC - Soldotna, Alaska GradeTec LLC is hiring a dependable Asphalt Paving Laborer/Raker to join our paving crew for projects throughout the Kenai Peninsula. We are looking for someone who works hard, shows up on time, and takes pride in producing quality asphalt work. Asphalt paving experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and can handle physically demanding outdoor work. Job Duties Rake and shovel hot-mix asphalt around joints, edges, structures, and areas the paver cannot reach Assist with preparing and cleaning the work area before paving Help establish clean edges, transitions, and finished surfaces Operate plate compactors, propane torches, asphalt saws, and other hand tools Assist the paver and roller operators as directed Apply tack coat and help maintain a clean, safe jobsite Load, unload, clean, and maintain tools and equipment Perform general labor associated with paving, grading, and site preparation Qualifications Asphalt paving or construction experience is preferred Raking and asphalt finishing experience is highly desirable Must be dependable and able to work as part of a crew Able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform strenuous physical work Able to work around hot asphalt, heavy equipment, dust, and changing weather Willing to work early mornings, long days, and occasional weekends when required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Must follow jobsite safety requirements and take direction from the crew foreman What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience and ability Overtime opportunities during the paving season Opportunity to learn additional equipment and advance within the company Local work primarily throughout the Kenai and Soldotna area A professional crew focused on quality workmanship and customer service This is a seasonal position with the potential for continued employment for employees who demonstrate reliability, a positive attitude, and strong performance.
