MARINE CONSTRUCTION WELDER/FABRICATOR & DEMOLITION LABORER
Location:
West Michigan — Saugatuck/Hamilton area, with projects from Benton Harbor to Muskegon
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking hardworking, dependable individuals to join our marine construction and interior demolition crews. This is a hands-on position involving welding, fabrication, rigging, equipment handling, selective demolition, and general construction labor. Qualified candidates should have experience with stick welding, torch cutting, power tools, demolition saws, rigging, or heavy equipment. We will train motivated individuals who have related construction, mechanical, agricultural, or equipment-handling experience. Our work includes commercial and industrial interior demolition as well as the construction and installation of: Steel sheet-pile walls Stone revetment walls Docks and boat lifts Pilings Lake Michigan stair systems Shoreline and marine structures
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform stick welding, torch cutting, fitting, and steel fabrication Perform selective commercial and industrial interior demolition Remove piping, ductwork, fixtures, and equipment Rig, lift, move, stage, and secure steel, equipment, and demolition materials Use demolition saws, reciprocating saws, grinders, drills, impact tools, and cutoff saws Operate hydraulic hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools Assist with barge, tugboat, workboat, and pile-driving operations Assist with crane operations and lifting activities Operate excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and forklifts Protect portions of buildings and structures that are not being demolished Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and construction materials Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Follow supervisor instructions, and safety procedures Inspect tools and report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions Perform general construction and demolition labor as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with torching, construction, demolition, equipment handling, or a related trade At least 18 years old Valid driver's license Reliable transportation to the company yard or designated job site Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time Able to safely use common hand and power tools Comfortable working around water and in active construction environments Able to follow instructions and work effectively with a crew Willingness to learn new tools, equipment, and construction methods Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and safety-conscious mindset
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Stick welding and steel fabrication Torch cutting and welding Commercial or industrial demolition Equipment and machinery removal Steel erection or structural steel construction Rigging, crane signaling, and material handling Metal cutting Reciprocating, circular, cutoff, and demolition saws Excavator, skid-steer, telehandler, forklift, or crane operation Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC removal Excavation and earthwork Field mechanics and equipment repair Farming or agricultural-equipment operation Marine construction, dock building, seawall construction, or pile driving
PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves physically demanding work that may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working on uneven surfaces. Reasonable accommodations will be considered where applicable. Work may be performed outdoors in changing weather, inside active construction or demolition sites, on barges and docks, near open water, and in areas involving dust, noise, vibration, sharp materials, and elevated work surfaces. Required protective equipment may include a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe boots.
TRANSPORTATION AND TRAVEL
Our company yard is located in the Saugatuck/Hamilton area. Transportation from the yard to marine construction project sites is provided. Employees may also report to designated demolition project locations throughout West Michigan.

Pay:
$ 20.00•$25.00 /
Hour Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.•5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime based on project needs.
