In person Underground Contractors, Inc. (UCI) is seeking Underground and Aerial Construction Laborers to join our telecommunications construction crews reporting from our Northwood, Ohio location, just outside Toledo . This is a hands-on construction position supporting either our underground directional drilling crews or our aerial fiber crews . We are looking for dependable individuals with a strong work ethic who are willing to learn, work outdoors, and be part of a team. Construction or telecommunications experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities Depending on crew assignment, duties may include: Assist Foremen and equipment operators with daily construction activities Support directional drilling, conduit, and underground fiber installation Assist with potholing, hand digging, and jobsite preparation Assist Linemen and Foremen with aerial fiber and telecommunications construction Handle fiber, cable, strand, hardware, tools, and construction materials Load and unload equipment and materials Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements Assist with traffic control and work-zone setup as needed Work outdoors in various weather conditions Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew Good verbal communication skills Willingness to learn new skills Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
