The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Semi-Skilled Laborer at Torrance State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the maintenance of hospital grounds and facilities through outdoor work, equipment operation, and general labor tasks. As a Semi-Skilled Laborer, you will perform the following duties:

Grounds Care:

Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flower beds, walkways, and outdoor areas

Snow Removal:

Clear snow and ice from walkways, ramps, docks, and steps during winter months

Equipment Handling:

Operate lawn equipment, hand tools, chain saws, and snow blowers as assigned

Furniture Hauling:

Load, unload, deliver, and store furniture and equipment throughout the facility

Labor Assistance:

Support skilled trades staff with digging trenches, mixing mortar, cleaning drains, and other manual tasks

Waste Transport:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

You must be in possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:
