Goodlettsville, TN Job Overview SBW Constructors LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Laborer to join our underground utility construction team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in underground utility construction, supporting the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. In this role, you'll assist equipment operators, pipe layers, and foremen with daily construction activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
This position requires a dependable, safety-focused individual who is comfortable performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced construction environment. Occasional weekend work is required. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation of underground water, sewer, and storm drainage utility systems. Perform general labor duties including digging, shoveling, grading, backfilling, and site cleanup. Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the job site. Assist pipe layers and heavy equipment operators during excavation and utility installation. Prepare trenches and bedding materials for pipe installation. Help install trench boxes, safety barriers, and erosion control measures. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members. Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project completion. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground utility construction required. Experience assisting with the installation of underground water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Familiarity with trenching, excavation, trench boxes, and working safely around heavy equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in all weather conditions. Experience using construction hand tools and power tools. Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors. Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Preferred but not required:
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification, excavation safety training, confined space training, or other underground utility construction certifications.
