Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC) Electrical Construction Superintendents are responsible for the day-to-day construction and direction of field operations including sub-contractors. Coordination of all union personnel, equipment, internal entities, and materials associated with project specific scope. Close monitoring and administration of all safety aspects associated with project activities. Administration of construction documentation specific to project performance and success. Act as the project leader for all project related field activities. You will report to the General Superintendent. This is a Full Time Position. What You Will Do Understanding of jobsite specific safety plan regarding project schedule. Understands and provides input on Jobsite Safety Plan, BVCC Safety Matrix, crane Lift Plans, demolition plans, fall protection plans, scaffold erection plans, hot work permits, welding plans, and confined space plans/ permitting. Abide by and enforce the integrity of the BVCC Project Labor Agreement. Responsible for the day-to-day construction activities and direction of BVCC Field Forces, sub- contractors, material vendors and equipment suppliers. Interpret and implement all construction documents (e.g. Drawings, Specifications, vendor submittals, etc.). Review all sequencing with Construction Manager. Advise Construction Manager of issues regarding constructability. Ensure that all work is completed according to construction documents, regulatory codes, and safety regulations. Has accountability for area of responsibility and is required to hire, fire, lead and develop staff, provide input on operational strategies and tactics. Spends 50 - 60 % of time directly leading others, with remaining% spent on leading business initiatives. Prepare daily reports, timesheets, and requests for information, field change orders, safety incidents reports, and near miss forms. Provide man load planning on the project per provided schedule and estimate, confirm the proper distribution ratio of labor (Journeyman and Apprentices). Maintain a 20% apprentice ratio when available. Required Qualifications & Skills 8+ Years of direct experience in construction or maintenance trades. Experienced interpretation of project drawings or specifications, project schedules, project estimates, or other construction documentation. Knowledge of union trades and jobsite interactions. Experience leading outside vendors and subcontractors. Ability to understand the needs of client and to manage relationships between the owner/operator. Experience with resource loading, crew scheduling, material take-off, and quality production control. Experience reviewing professional bid packages. Preferred Qualifications Electrical Journeyman's license OSHA 10 hour course State issued general contracting or specialty electrical license. Knowledge of local building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical codes. Understanding of earned value reporting. Education High School diploma or equivalent Additional Information The position is fully on-site #li-sb6 The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $100,100 to $134,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
