Strata Civil is seeking an experienced General Manager for our client , a growing heavy civil contractor specializing in Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants, Pump Stations, Underground Utilities, and Deep Underground Construction . Reporting directly to the owner, this leader will oversee construction operations, guide project and field management teams, and take responsibility for project execution and financial performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction executive who understands self-performing operations and can help a growing organization strengthen its people, processes, and profitability. Compensation & Benefits Base salary of $130,000-$160,000 , depending on experience Potential annual bonus of up to 50% of base salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Company vehicle and gas card 3 weeks of PTO , plus paid holidays and sick leave Relocation assistance Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operations across multiple water/wastewater, pump station, and underground utility projects. Oversee projects from preconstruction and project setup through construction, closeout, and final financial review. Manage and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and associated field leadership. Establish clear expectations for safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and financial performance. Direct staffing, crew assignments, equipment utilization, and resource planning across self-performing operations. Own operational P&L performance, including budget reviews, cost controls, forecasting, and corrective action. Work with estimating and project teams to evaluate scope, constructability, production assumptions, schedules, and project risks. Monitor subcontractor performance, contract administration, change orders, and project documentation. Maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Resolve operational challenges and support project teams in delivering work safely, efficiently, and profitably. Partner directly with the owner on operational improvements, organizational development, and growth planning. Qualifications 10+ years of relevant construction experience , with a strong background in water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, underground utilities, and deep underground work. Demonstrated leadership of multiple projects and project management teams. Experience managing self-performed projects in the $1 million-$15 million+ range from start to finish. Strong understanding of field production, labor and equipment planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control. Proven responsibility for operational budgets, financial forecasting, and P&L performance. Working knowledge of contract administration, safety requirements, quality control, and environmental compliance. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, and financial reporting tools, along with Microsoft Office. Strong communication, decision-making, and team development skills.
