Forks Lath & Plaster, Inc. (FLP) is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to join our leadership team. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for providing senior-level leadership and oversight of FLP's field operations across assigned commercial construction projects. This position will lead and support Field Supervisors, oversee field and project performance, and ensure FLP's work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to our standards for quality and craftsmanship. The Senior Superintendent will work closely with FLP's Operations, Project Management, Estimating, and Safety teams, as well as General Contractors and other project partners to successfully execute projects from pre-construction through completion.
Applicants must have/possess:
5+ years of commercial construction experience 3+ years of experience in a Superintendent, Foreman, or other construction leadership role Experience with steel stud framing and drywall installation & finishing operations (preferred) Current and valid Driver's license and reliable means of transportation Clear background record Proven experience leading multiple crews and field employees Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and jobsite operations Ability to travel between project locations throughout the Fargo, Grand Forks, and surrounding areas The primary role of the Senior Superintendent includes the following essential functions:
Pre-Construction & Project Planning:
Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning activities. Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and site logistics prior to project start. Assist in determining manpower, material, equipment, and production requirements for upcoming projects.
Schedule & Coordination:
Monitor FLP's project schedules and coordinate field operations to meet project milestones. Work closely with general contractors and project management teams regarding schedule requirements and upcoming work. Adjust manpower and field resources as project priorities change. Assist in planning project closeout, punch list, and completion activities.
Safety & Quality:
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all FLP jobsites. Ensure Superintendents, Foremen, and field employees follow FLP safety policies and project-specific safety requirements. Monitor the quality of work being performed and ensure FLP standards are consistently met.
Leadership & Employee Development:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to Superintendents and Foremen. Help develop future field leaders through coaching, training, and hands-on guidance. Assist Operations leadership with evaluating field leadership performance and identifying opportunities for improvement. Support FLP's career development and training programs.
Project & Partner Relationships :
Maintain strong communication with general contractor Superintendents and project teams. Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding FLP's progress, manpower, schedule, and field operations. Communicate project concerns and opportunities to FLP leadership in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with Project Management, Estimating, Safety, and Operations to support successful project delivery.
