Role Description The Assistant Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in SE Houston, TX, supporting day-to-day field operations on construction projects. This position assists the Project Manager in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring jobsite safety, and ensuring work is completed according to plans, specifications, and schedule. Daily responsibilities include tracking project progress, maintaining site documentation, attending coordination meetings, and communicating updates to project management and trade partners. The Assistant Superintendent helps manage materials, tools, and equipment on site, supports quality control inspections, and addresses field issues to keep activities moving efficiently. This role requires consistent presence on the jobsite, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Qualifications Prior experience in commercial or institutional construction, preferably in K-12, higher education, or municipal projects is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education in construction management or a related field is beneficial. Construction field management abilities, including supporting scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, and day-to-day site logistics. Knowledge of construction plans and specifications, with the ability to read drawings and assist with quality control and compliance with project requirements. Commitment to jobsite safety, including adherence to safety protocols, hazard recognition, and supporting a culture of safe work practices. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and owners. Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain documentation, and address issues that arise in the field. Basic proficiency with construction-related technology and software (e.g., smartphones/tablets, project management or documentation tools). Ability to work on site in varying weather conditions, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform standard physical tasks related to field supervision.
