This position will be responsible for verifying the condition, installation quality, functionality, and compliance of existing lighting systems with project requirements, applicable standards, and client expectations. The Lighting Inspector will travel to assigned project locations, visually inspect installed fixtures, identify deficiencies or damaged components, document findings, and provide accurate field reports to support corrective actions and project closeout. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in the field, has a strong attention to detail, and can accurately document and communicate installation deficiencies. Key Responsibilities Perform field inspections of previously installed interior and/or exterior lighting fixtures. Verify that lighting fixtures are properly installed, secured, aligned, and positioned in accordance with project requirements and approved drawings. Verify proper operation and functionality of installed lighting fixtures where required. Inspect associated components such as mounting hardware, poles, brackets, housings, lenses, controls, wiring connections, and related equipment as applicable. Compare field conditions against construction drawings, specifications, installation requirements, punch lists, and other project documentation. Identify and document non-conforming installations and items requiring repair, replacement, or additional evaluation. Photograph inspected fixtures and deficiencies to create clear visual documentation of field conditions. Record fixture locations, identification numbers, inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective-action requirements using inspection forms, tablets, mobile applications, or other project tracking systems. Maintain accurate daily inspection logs and field reports. Track deficiencies and verify completion of corrective work when follow-up inspections are required. Communicate inspection findings to project managers, construction personnel, contractors, electricians, and other project stakeholders. Assist project teams with resolving field discrepancies and installation-quality concerns. Follow established quality-control and inspection procedures to ensure consistency across all inspected locations. Maintain organized inspection records, photographs, reports, and supporting documentation. Follow all site-specific safety requirements and company safety procedures while performing field inspections. Perform other inspection and project-support responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in field inspection, electrical construction, lighting installation, quality control, construction inspection, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred. Experience inspecting installed lighting fixtures or electrical systems is highly desirable. Basic understanding of lighting fixtures, electrical components, installation practices, and construction drawings. Ability to identify installation defects, physical damage, workmanship issues, and deviations from project requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently inspect a high volume of installed fixtures. Ability to accurately document field observations through written reports and photographs. Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, inspection applications, spreadsheets, and other digital documentation tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating effectively with project teams. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned project locations as required. Physical & Field Requirements Ability to work primarily in an active field or construction environment. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while conducting inspections. Ability to navigate construction sites, facilities, uneven surfaces, stairs, and other field conditions.
