The Construction Control Representative serves as a vital member of the Engineering Service at the VA Medical Center and all associated sites of care or services and has support/quality responsibilities for the design, construction, and activation program.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Individual Occupational Requirements (for positions at GS-4 and above): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of crafts persons, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications. GS-11
Grade Level Specialized Experience:
One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-10 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performs construction coordination, documentation, and inspection duties for the Medical Center's design and construction program; acting as alternate Contracting Office Representative (COR) working under assigned Project Managers/General Engineers; provides oversight and inspection of construction operations; confers with other employees on problems of control, inspection, administration, and safety and makes decisions for dealing with the particular problems . There is no educational substitution for the GS-11 level.
