Job Description

Construction InspectorPosition Summary:
Seeking a Construction Inspector to support utility infrastructure projects involving water, sewer, and stormwater systems. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers, contractors, surveyors, and other project stakeholders to ensure construction activities are completed according to approved plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform onsite inspection of watermain, sanitary sewer, and stormwater utility construction projects.

Coordinate with the project engineer and follow direction regarding daily construction activities and project requirements.

Communicate with contractors, municipal representatives, geotechnical consultants, and survey teams regarding project updates, schedules, construction staking, and material testing.

Conduct field measurements of installed materials, including gravel, asphalt, and other construction components.

Maintain detailed daily reports documenting project progress, site activities, and inspection observations.

Verify that construction work is being completed in accordance with approved engineering plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Some onsite construction inspection experience is required.

Internship experience is acceptable; approximately 6 months of field inspection experience is considered the minimum qualification.

Experience with utility construction projects involving water, sewer, or stormwater systems is preferred.

Strong communication and coordination skills with project teams and field personnel.
Project Information:
Expected project duration: 6 to 9 monthsAnticipated start date: Within the next few weeks, following the scheduled pre-construction meeting.

Work will be performed primarily at the project site.
