What you will do Travel nationwide to customer locations on an approximately 28-days-on and 7-days-off rotation.

• Perform detailed federal DOT inspections on trucks, trailers, chippers, utility fleet vehicles, and related equipment.
• Learn to inspect bucket trucks, aerial devices, digger derricks, grapple trucks, knuckle booms, and other utility equipment.
• Inspect truck cabs, lighting, tires, wheels, lug nuts, brakes, air systems, suspension, springs, driveline components, rear-end components, mounting hardware, outrigger systems, doors, compartments, reflectors, hooks, locks, and other safety-related equipment.
• Inspect booms from the lower structure through the upper boom and bucket area, including welds, bolts, fasteners, pins, boom sections, cylinders, rotation systems, bearing bolts, controls, liners, holding valves, and safety components.
• Assist with dielectric testing, boom load testing, brake inspections, air-system checks, torque checks, and documentation of inspection findings.
• Identify conditions requiring attention and accurately document inspection findings. This position does not diagnose repairs, quote repairs, order parts, or perform repairs.
• Take clear required photos and complete detailed digital inspection reports using a smartphone.
• Communicate daily with UEI coordinators regarding inspection progress, delays, findings, completed work, and any issues affecting completion of assigned inspections.
• Maintain your assigned company vehicle, personal hand tools, and UEI-provided inspection and testing equipment professionally. Pay and Benefits This is a production-based position. Tools and Equipment UEI provides the specialized, high-cost inspection and testing equipment required to perform the work. Inspector Trainees are expected to provide and maintain their own basic hand tools. A detailed required hand-tool list will be provided during the hiring and onboarding process.
• UEI provides specialty testing equipment and expensive inspection equipment.
• Inspectors provide normal personal hand tools needed for day-to-day field work.
• Inspectors are responsible for keeping both personal tools and UEI-provided equipment organized, secure, and in good working condition.

Training Training typically lasts approximately 3 to 6 months, depending on your mechanical background, effort, attention to detail, report quality, and ability to learn UEI's inspection procedures. Training begins in Moore, Oklahoma. Trainees work alongside experienced inspectors and learn UEI's inspection standards, documentation requirements, reporting process, photo standards, customer-yard procedures, and equipment inspection methods. This is not watch a few videos and go work alone training. There is a lot to learn. You must be willing to take direction, ask good questions, retain information, and improve quickly. What We Are Looking For

• Must be at least 21 years old for company-vehicle insurance purposes.
• Valid driver license and eligibility to operate a company vehicle under UEI's motor-vehicle-record and insurance standards.
• Clean, responsible driving history. Final candidates must pass the job-related driving-record review.
• Ability and genuine willingness to travel throughout the United States for approximately 28 days at a time. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how commercial trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air systems, air brakes, hydraulic brakes, and aerial equipment operate.
• Strong attention to detail. Missing a damaged component, loose fastener, brake issue, air leak, unsafe boom condition, or documentation requirement is not acceptable.
• Comfortable climbing, working around large equipment, entering and exiting vehicles, using ladders, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Able to work safely around heavy equipment, utility fleet vehicles, aerial devices, and customer-yard operations.
• Comfortable using a smartphone to take required photos, complete reports, upload documentation, receive assignments, use navigation, and communicate daily with UEI coordinators.
• Reliable, professional, punctual, organized, and able to work independently without being micromanaged.
• Able to communicate clearly with coordinators, customers, and team members.
• Able to pass job-related pre-employment screening and comply with company safety requirements. Preferred Experience Experience is helpful but not required for the right trainee.
• DOT inspection or commercial-vehicle inspection experience.
• Trailer, truck, fleet, utility-equipment, diesel, heavy-equipment, or automotive mechanical experience. Experience with bucket trucks, aerial lifts, digger derricks, grapple trucks, cranes, chippers, or utility fleets.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, air brakes, brake components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Prior traveling field-service, inspection, construction, utility, fleet, or rotational-work experience.
• Experience identifying and documenting equipment conditions, inspection findings, safety concerns, defects, or compliance issues.
• Experience writing inspection reports, documenting work, taking equipment photos, or using mobile work-order systems. Before You Apply Please apply only if all of the following are true:
