Job Description
We are seeking an experienced construction inspector or field engineer to provide comprehensive technical oversight on complex commercial or federal projects, with a specialized focus on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems. This role covers field inspection, commissioning support, submittal/RFI technical review, deficiency tracking, and progress documentation across large-scale, multi phased construction and modernization projects.
Pay:
$36.81- $39.58 per hour

Required:
Minimum 10 years of documented experience in construction inspection or field engineering, with verified specialization in MEP systems on complex commercial or federal projectsField experience on at least 2 multip phased modernization or new construction projects of a similar profile (large-scale campus environments, critical infrastructure facilities, or LPOEs) valued at $50M or greaterExceptional working knowledge of IBC, IMC, IPC, NEC, and OSHA safety regulationsAdvanced proficiency in auditing centralized hydronic plant loops, VRF layouts, air filtration mechanics (MERV/HEPA sequencing), and localized exhaust extraction systems; deep understanding of BACnet protocols and BAS graphic sequence of operations logicExpert familiarity with SCCR, arc flash safety boundaries, Selective Coordination requirements for overcurrent protective devices, and emergency infrastructure load-shedding architectureThorough understanding of IPC, backflow prevention assembly testing, medical/specialty gas certifications, and hydraulic calculations for automatic fire sprinkler networks (NFPA 13/14/20)Expert capability navigating multi-layered 2D blueprints, structural cross-sections, 3D BIM programs (e.g., Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection), and complex technical specification matricesProven experience with enterprise-level electronic project management software (daily logs, RFI tracking, submittal packages, deficiency metrics)Demonstrated history of providing objective technical guidance, drafting clear professional summaries, and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups (including GSA Project Managers, CBP operations staff, and prime contractors) #MEPInspector #ConstructionInspection #FieldEngineering #FederalConstruction #HVACInspection #ElectricalInspection #QualityControl #BIM #Commissioning #HiringNow #NowHiring #GovernmentContracting #LI-AS1
