Fisher Dynamics is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Steel Receiving Operator for our Brownsville, Texas facility. This position is responsible for driving a hi-lo to support the material handling activities in the plant. It is also responsible for loading and unloading steel trucks using a overheard crane. The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate a hi-lo and overhead crane to load and unload trucks Operate a hi-lo and overhead crane to rotate stock for purposes of ensuring proper lot rotation and usage Scan and verify shipments incoming and outgoing vs manifest Ensure containers are properly labeled Deliver steel to the presses and load steel into de-coilers Remove steel from de-coilers, re-band and store as needed Deliver and remove tubs from presses as needed Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe Prepare paperwork as required Various other duties as required by the department Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience One to Two years of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment or warehouse Skills Operate a Hi-Lo and industrial scale Operate a overhead crane Ability to follow established procedures Ability to judge distances, speed of moving objects, and the ability to lift and move stacked pallets and containers efficiently Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability Knowledge of

Work Environment Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment, warehouse and shipping dock. Exposure to weather when unloading trucks and transporting material outdoors and between plants Physical Demands Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment, warehouse and shipping dock. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and extensive driving of hi-lo's. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required. The work requires regular sitting, standing, moving about, and involves a variety of physical activities.
Pay:
