JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and dependable drywall installer with expertise in drywall installation and repair to support the ongoing maintenance needs of a multifamily housing community. This role involves performing drywall work alongside general repairs in units, common areas, and building exteriors. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning living environment for residents.
ABOUT US
Cabrini Villas is a large community of 863 units (townhomes). Amenities include 6 tennis courts, 7 pools and jacuzzies, sauna, clubhouse, 2 playgrounds for kids, volleyball/basketball courts, 4- acre park, and RV parking. We are nestled in the hills above the Burbank Airport and in a city that hosts many entertainment giants. We are seeking a full-time office assistant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, tape, mud, and sand drywall in units and common areas Patch and repair drywall damage caused by wear, water intrusion, or tenant turnover Perform general handyman tasks including painting, and minor carpentry, Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in safe and clean condition Communicate effectively with property management and residents regarding repair timelines and access Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and property standards May be assigned other duties by General Manager. Reviews and completes work orders assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager. Close out work orders and turn in at the end of each shift. Routinely inspects community and advises supervisor of any issues or makes corrections. Utilizes and maintains equipment in a proper, safe and effective manner. Maintains working relationships with community staff. Painting or touch up of all common areas as needed. Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisor. Makes general carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other minor community/building repairs as long as a permit is not required to complete the job. Reports need for major repairs to Community Association Manager Maintenance Supervisor. Checks all lighting and sprinklers daily. Pressure washes decks, sidewalks, and entrances as necessary to maintain neat appearance. Regularly check AC drip pans and gutters for draining and clogs. Maintain any applicable recreational amenities (i.e. tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court). Ensures all safety precautions and procedures are followed while performing duties in compliance with OSHA guidelines and requirements. General trash and grounds cleanup including use of blower.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATION
Proven experience in drywall installation and general maintenance work Familiarity with multifamily housing operations and tenant service expectations Ability to work efficiently in occupied units with discretion and professionalism Skilled in using hand and power tools for drywall and general repairs Strong attention to detail and finishing quality Ability to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to perform with minimal supervision. Ability to read, understand, and implement established policies and procedures. Ability to multi-task effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift 50lbs. following appropriate safety procedures. Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time and crawl in small and tight spaces. Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain). Walk and climb stairs. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written. Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings are required to meet the job functions. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level.
