Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Electrical Helper to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our electricians on various construction sites, particularly in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electrical systems and a willingness to learn and grow within the field. This position requires working alongside experienced electricians, assisting with installations, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems. Duties Assist electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, including both high voltage and low voltage applications. Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete tasks. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to support project execution. Perform frame carpentry tasks as needed to support electrical installations. Help with the setup and breakdown of job sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Conduct basic troubleshooting using voltmeters and other diagnostic tools. Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites. Experience Previous experience in construction or electrical work is highly recommended. Seeking 2-4 years ideally in electrical work or similar. Familiarity with power tools, voltmeters, and basic electrical concepts is advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while following instructions from lead electricians. A strong commitment to safety practices on construction sites is essential. Willingness to learn new skills related to commercial electrical work and expand knowledge in the field.
EMPLOYEE EXPECTATIONS
Strong Technical Aptitude:
Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical systems is crucial. Familiarity with hand and power tools is expected; At a minimum should own a Drill, Impact, 10-in-1 Screwdriver Set, Lineman Pliers, Cable Stripper, and Cable Cutters for basic electrical work. The ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics is highly valued. Knowledge of safety procedures, including OSHA standards, is essential for a safe working environment.
Physical Fitness and Stamina:
Electrical work can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, dig, and work for extended periods of time to ensure project deadlines are met. Good vision is also important, especially for distinguishing between color-coded wires.
Strong Communication and Teamwork Skills:
Effective communication is vital for understanding instructions, coordinating with other team members, and interacting with customers. Being a team player and collaborating with electricians and other tradespeople is essential for project success.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
The ability to think critically and troubleshoot electrical issues is valuable. This involves analyzing situations, separating facts from opinions, and asking questions to arrive at effective solutions. Willingness to
