Handyman, carpenter, painter and home repair pros: Rivet is building a Guild of experienced, reliable, independent handypeople in Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs. About Rivet Rivet is a Cleveland startup that connects women with trained, Background-Checked handypeople for thesmall home repairs that too often go undone: TV mounting, drywall patching, painting, furniture assembly andmore. Many of our customers live alone or feel safer knowing exactly who is coming to their door. We take that trust seriously, and we're building a team of handypeople who do too. The Rivet Guild The Guild is our application-only group of independent handypeople. It is not an open job board. We reviewevery applicant and limit who joins, so every customer gets the same standard: skilled, on time, and respectfulof her home. When bookings open, Guild members are matched with jobs near them. We handle customerrequests, scheduling and payments. You do the work you're good at. Customers agree to treat Guild members with respect and to provide a safe working environment. What you'll do Complete small home repair and installation jobs, typically 1-3 hours Arrive on time, communicate clearly before and after, and leave the space clean Use the Rivet app to start and finish jobs and take before/after photos Recognize when a job is outside handyperson scope (electrical, gas, structural) and say so Work as a lead or helper on two-person jobs Put your safety first: if you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable on a job for any reason, you leave immediately. No penalty, and you're paid for the time worked Who we're looking for Professional, punctual and responsible, with high integrity. You take pride in your work, treat customers'homes with care, and put safety first. If showing up on time or staying in touch is hard for you, this isn't theright fit, and we'd rather say that now. Requirements 2+ years of hands-on experience in home repair, carpentry, painting, drywall or a related trade (orequivalent training) Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Core hand and power tools [confirm] Willingness to pass a background check Liability insurance or bonding [confirm requirement and who pays] A smartphone you're comfortable using for the Rivet app How we select Short application, conversation, skills review, background check, then the Rivet Orientation (standards, safety,how jobs work, and the app) [confirm each step before listing] Pay and terms Independent contractor (1099), not an employee No fees to apply, join or receive jobs Estimated lead rate: $85 per hour. Helper rate is a percentage of the lead rate (currently 60%). The firsthour is a minimum, then billing is in 15-minute increments. Rates are set by Rivet and may be adjusted as we launch and learn. We'll tell Guild members about anychange in advance, and a change will not affect jobs you've already accepted. We're launching in Cleveland and its suburbs. Job volume will start small and grow, and we can't promisea set number of hours.

Pay:

$85.00 - $100.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 8.0 per week
