Job Description

General Description:

A Journeyman Electrician plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the duties below. This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of thestrategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, andExcellence. CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance,industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies.

This is a contractor position, local, must live local.

  • Your responsibility includes representing the Company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for futuremaintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent withspecifications and local electrical codes.

  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints,ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, andflooring.
  • Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
  • Terminate wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.

Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need foradjustment, relocation, or replacement.

  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric devices or motor, and installs groundingleads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components withtesting instruments such as ohmmeter, toner, and oscilloscope.
  • Participates in meetings, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, prioritize and plan workefficiently.
  • Adapts to changes in work environments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Oral and written communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negativesituations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information.
Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, high or precarious places, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A current Cook Inlet Training Standard (CITS) health & safety card, OSHA 10 hour, or 24-hour Hazwoper (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is required.
  • TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required.
  • Alaska Electrical Journeyman Fitness Card or an appropriate reciprocal fitness card from another state is required.
  • Medium voltage experience with knowledge of power delivery systems is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

    MOBILITY

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses computers daily. He/sheis regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

      HEARING:

      The employee frequently is required to talk or hear while answering phones, workingwith customers, clients, supervisors, etc.

        VISUAL ACUITY

        Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner. Ability to seeand complete work on a personal computer and read color coded writing on equipment forms,etc.

          LIFTING:

          Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 50 lbs. from waist to shoulder height.



          Must be able to carry 50 lbs. for 20 feet

          Contingencies:

          Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
