Incumbents in this position will perform duties at the electrical journeyman level in the construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and related systems . JOB SUMMARY

Skilled Maintenance Specialist - Electrician Light fixtures, masters, control transformers thermostats, power equipment, switches, wiring and outlets will have been checked/repaired/replaced. New services, outlets, switches, lighting, electrical panels, supply for air-conditioners, heaters, furnaces, boilers wiring and duct/conduit will have been installed/repaired/replaced. Intercom telephones, speakers, signal apparatus, wiring, conduits and other equipment will have been installed/repaired/replaced. Master clocks, clocks, bells, horns, wiring, conduit and associated equipment will have been checked/repaired/replaced. Fire alarm, bells, horns, buzzers, control panels, wiring and associated equipment will have been checked/repaired/replaced. Other work as required will have been done. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Education, Training and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from high school Two years of journey-level experience in electrical trade, in addition to completion of an apprenticeship or its equivalent. Any other combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possess and maintain a valid California driver's license to operate District vehicles as determined by the District and liability insurance carrier. The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations. The eligibility list for this classification will remain in effect for a period of 6 months.
