Duties Install, maintain, and repair residential electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panel upgrades. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute projects accurately. Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Perform high-voltage wiring tasks for specialized appliances or systems while maintaining strict safety protocols. Conduct inspections of electrical systems during renovations or new construction projects to ensure quality and compliance. Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete installations and repairs in a timely manner. Read blueprints and electrical schematics accurately to plan wiring layouts for residential projects. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work within broader renovation or building projects. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and materials used for each project. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on residential projects; industrial or commercial experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting systems, reading blueprints/electrical schematics, and interpreting technical diagrams. Skilled in working with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high-voltage wiring when required. Proficiency with testing equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters for accurate diagnostics. Ability to handle construction site environments safely while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with renovation projects and construction experience is highly desirable. Valid electrician license or certification as required by state or local regulations; ongoing training in electrical safety procedures is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems effectively.
