Responsibilities:
Follow company safety policies a) Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment b) Know and follow the HAZCOM program Present a positive image to customers, co-workers and others on the job Keep work area clean Be willing to learn and take direction Attend training to improve knowledge of HVAC. Possess general knowledge of hand tools and their use Be able to identify material for piping, copper and PVC fittings Understand proper material handling procedures for DX Piping Understand general electrical safety practices Install and braze DX Piping Perform leak testing and dehydration of DX Systems Perform low voltage wiring and terminations of stand-alone controls and thermostats Run condensate drains with proper traps and pitch Install accessories on rooftop package units: Outdoor air hoods, electric heaters, motorized dampers Be able to read and understand blueprints and submittals Ability to start up DX split systems, rooftop package units and complete required start up sheets Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical systems Ability to perform interlock wiring for exhaust fans and duct smoke detectors with A/C equipment Read and understand DDC control submittals Knowledge of Chillers, Chilled Water System Piping, Chilled Water Pump Alignment and Motor Starters Knowledge of VAV Systems Experience with variable speed drives, controls start up and troubleshooting Possess good communication skills
Qualifications:
Minimum of Seven (7) years experience in the HVAC trade
Work Environment:
Physical activities of standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be comfortable working from heights (over 20 feet is common). Walking and lifting weight of twenty pounds or more is required in daily performance of job. Use of upper extremities required for forward and overhead reaching, pushing, pulling and material handling. Use of torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting and squatting.
