West Palm Beach, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $30 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience No experience needed High school diploma or GED Full Job Description No Marine Experience Required SoFlo Marine Electric is seeking a dependable, motivated Entry-Level Marine Electrician to join our team and learn the marine electrical trade while working aboard boats and yachts throughout South Florida and abroad. Previous marine electrical experience is not required. This position is designed for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, pays attention to detail, and wants to build a long-term career in a skilled marine trade. You'll work alongside experienced marine electricians and technicians while learning how vessel electrical systems are installed, tested, maintained, and repaired. What You'll Do & Learn You'll assist experienced technicians with: Installing, routing, securing, and labeling marine electrical wiring and cabling Assisting with batteries, battery banks, switches, breakers, panels, lighting, pumps, chargers, inverters, and other onboard equipment Removing and replacing electrical components Making electrical connections and terminations under technician supervision Learning the fundamentals of 12V/24V DC and marine AC electrical systems Learning to use multimeters and other electrical testing equipment Assisting with electrical troubleshooting and system testing Reading basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation Preparing tools, materials, and work areas for installations and repairs Keeping tools, equipment, and vessel work areas clean and organized Assisting with job documentation and completed-work records Following electrical, workplace, and vessel safety procedures Taking on increasingly advanced marine electrical work as your skills develop What We're Looking For No previous marine electrical experience is required.

Work Environment Applicants must be comfortable: Working aboard boats and yachts at marinas, docks, boatyards, and customer locations Working in engine rooms, machinery spaces, bilges, cabinets, and other confined areas Working indoors and outdoors in South Florida conditions Standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching throughout the workday Safely handling tools, electrical equipment, cable, batteries, and materials Traveling between local job sites during the workday Career Development This position is intended to be more than a temporary helper role. As your skills and experience grow, you'll have the opportunity to take on more advanced electrical work and develop toward becoming a Marine Electrical Technician capable of independently installing, troubleshooting, and repairing vessel electrical systems. You'll gain practical experience in a specialized trade while learning directly from experienced marine professionals. Schedule Full-time preferred; part-time may be considered for qualified candidates. Schedule may vary depending on vessel, project, and customer requirements.
