Residential and Commercial Electrician Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Residential and Commercial Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specifications. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment. Install electrical panels, service upgrades, generators, lighting systems, and surge protection. Perform new construction, remodeling, and renovation electrical work. Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes. Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or code violations. Install and maintain commercial lighting, emergency lighting, and control systems. Replace or repair damaged electrical components and wiring. Communicate with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and project progress. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures. Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment safely. Collaborate with contractors, supervisors, and other trades on construction projects. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 3 years experience minimum. Must live within 45 minutes of Huntley IL Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Experience with residential service work and commercial electrical installations. Knowledge of generators, EV chargers, smart home systems, and low-voltage wiring. Experience with conduit bending and installation (EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit). Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
