Job Description

The Trailer Upfit / Electrical Technician is responsible for completing electrical, mechanical, generator, plumbing, and equipment installations on box trucks according to build specifications. This position requires the ability to read build drawings, follow wiring diagrams, use hand and power tools, and complete installations safely and accurately while maintaining quality and production standards.
Upfit Technician/Electrical Responsibilities may include:
Trailer & Box Build Upfit Install and assemble components and equipment in trailers and box trucks according to build specifications. Electrical Install, route, terminate, and troubleshoot electrical wiring and components. Install electrical panels, outlets, switches, lights, breakers, batteries, converters, inverters, and related equipment. Read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build drawings. Properly label and organize wiring and electrical components. Test electrical systems to verify proper operation and safety. Troubleshoot electrical issues and make necessary repairs or adjustments. Generator Installation Set and install generators according to build specifications. Position, mount, and secure generators and related components. Install generator wiring, connections, controls, and associated electrical components. Assist with fuel, exhaust, ventilation, and other generator-related installation requirements. Test generator operation and verify proper system functionality. Follow all applicable safety requirements when working with generators and electrical systems. Basic Plumbing Install basic plumbing components, water lines, fittings, valves, drains, and fixtures as required by the build. Cut, route, connect, and secure plumbing lines. Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation. Troubleshoot and correct basic plumbing issues. Complete interior and exterior upfit work, including mounting equipment, cabinets, shelving, brackets, and other components. Measure, drill, cut, and modify materials as required for installations. Securely mount equipment and ensure all components are properly aligned and installed. Assist with custom builds and modifications as required.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in electrical, trailer upfit, construction, automotive, RV, generator installation, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and components. Basic plumbing knowledge and ability to work with common fittings and connections Ability to read and follow basic instructions and diagrams Able to read a tape measure Ability to safely operate hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
