Job Description

Antenna Associates is a leading manufacturer of high-performance antenna and RF solutions serving commercial, industrial, defense, and specialized communications markets. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Mechanical Technician to join our Operations team. This hands-on role is responsible for the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and support of complex antenna and RF products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electromechanical assembly and electrical integration, along with proven RF testing experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment. Position Summary The Electrical Mechanical Technician is responsible for building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting complex electromechanical assemblies and antenna systems. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have experience with mechanical assembly, electrical wiring and integration, cable harnessing, and RF testing. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of supporting both production and prototype activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, integrate, and test complex electromechanical assemblies, antenna systems, and related RF products in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, cable harness fabrication, connector installation, soldering, and final product integration.
  • Conduct RF, electrical, and functional testing of products in accordance with established test procedures and specifications.
  • Support product verification, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and RF-related issues during assembly and test operations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
  • Record and maintain accurate test data, inspection records, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering to support prototype builds, new product introductions, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of product failures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with complex electromechanical assemblies involving both mechanical assembly and electrical integration.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on RF testing experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production environment.
  • Experience performing electrical and RF troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with cable assembly, connector termination, soldering, wiring, and electrical integration.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and electronic test equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform assembly and testing tasks in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in antenna manufacturing, RF systems, telecommunications, aerospace, defense, or related industries.
  • Experience using: o Oscilloscopes o Bench test equipment o Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) o Spectrum Analyzers o Signal Generators o RF Power Meters
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience supporting engineering prototype builds and new product development programs.
  • Familiarity with environmental, vibration, or qualification testing.
  • Experience using ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Associate degree or advanced technical training in electronics or electromechanical technology.
  • Experience evaluating antenna performance and troubleshooting RF-related issues. Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing and laboratory environment.
  • Frequent use of test equipment, hand tools, and computer systems.
  • Standing, bending, lifting, and performing precision assembly work for extended periods.
  • Exposure to electrical and RF test environments while following established safety procedures. Compensation and Benefits Antenna Associates offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
