You'll be the go-to pro for installing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical and control systems that power our Wentzville operations—helping teams hit goals safely and efficiently. What you'll do Lay out, install, repair, and maintain advanced electrical systems and control circuits across the plant. Diagnose faults and restore operations quickly to avoid production interruptions. Execute planned preventive and corrective maintenance to extend asset life. Champion OSHA and company safety standards on every task. Read and apply detailed electrical drawings and schematics. Collaborate across departments; contribute to continuous improvement projects. Use strong critical thinking to solve technical problems under time pressure. What you bring 6+ years of relevant electrical experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade. 18 years of age or older. Ability to work day, afternoon, or night shifts; available for overtime, weekends, and holidays with minimal notice. Current GM team members under a collective bargaining agreement should consult local HR/LR about placement opportunities. Compensation and benefits Depending on credentials and interview results, you may start as a Journeyperson In Training (JIT) at $37.78 - $44.08/hour or as a Journeyperson at $44.98/hour. GM UAW hourly roles include competitive pay and benefits, plus eligibility for an annual incentive payout for qualified employees. Physical demands React quickly to alarms and safety instructions. Stand for extended periods; occasional seated tasks. Comfortably use required PPE. Navigate an active production environment; operate mobile equipment as needed. Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach; lift/carry up to 50 lbs. depending on department. Good to know Relocation and travel expenses are the applicant's responsibility.
