You will install and connect DC and medium-voltage systems, interpret electrical plans, perform testing to ensure safety and compliance, and support the physical installation of solar modules on racking systems. Responsibilities Pull and terminate DC and medium-voltage cables to ensure reliable electrical interconnections. Wire combiner boxes and connect solar modules to inverters in accordance with electrical standards and project specifications. Bend, cut, and install conduit runs to support electrical infrastructure across the site. Build service pads and install racking grounds to support solar equipment and maintain proper grounding. Interpret and work from single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and site engineering plans to complete installations accurately. Perform continuity and voltage tests using multimeters to verify proper operation and identify issues. Enforce safety standards and maintain compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site safety protocols. Assist operators in moving solar modules to work stations and support module installation workflows. Lift and position modules repeatedly, typically 25-30 pounds, as they are installed on racks at a rapid, continuous pace. Carry old modules and cables to dumpsters and designated disposal areas as part of site clean-up and retrofitting activities. Place bolts and screws into appropriate holes to secure modules in place, using power drills and hand tools. Install all modules efficiently while maintaining a fast pace to meet daily production schedules and project deadlines. Work effectively in a high-pressure, production-driven environment with clear daily output goals. Navigate and work safely on uneven ground and in outdoor conditions throughout the workday. Collaborate with other construction and electrical team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality installations. Essential Skills Active registration as a Journeyman Electrician with the state of Montana. Strong electrical installation skills, including wiring, conduit installation, and terminations for DC and medium-voltage systems. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in solar and construction-related electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and site engineering plans. Experience working in construction and installation environments, particularly non-residential and outdoor projects. Ability to lift 30+ pounds repeatedly over the course of the workday. Comfort working at a fast pace with strict daily production goals and time-sensitive schedules. Ability to use multimeters for continuity and voltage testing and to verify safe, correct operation of electrical systems. Skilled in using power drills and hand tools for installing modules, fasteners, and related components. Capability to work safely and effectively on uneven terrain and in varying outdoor conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on solar module installation, including racking, modules, and associated electrical connections. Experience in outdoor construction environments with exposure to extreme temperature conditions. Familiarity with NEC requirements and general electrical safety standards. Hands-on experience in labor-intensive roles requiring frequent lifting, carrying, and use of tools. Ability to handle pressure in a high-output, goal-driven environment while maintaining quality and safety. Strong attention to detail when placing bolts, screws, and electrical connections to ensure secure and compliant installations. Why Work Here? This opportunity offers extensive hands-on experience in large-scale solar and electrical construction projects, providing a chance to develop and refine your technical skills in a dynamic field environment. You will work with a team that values safety, productivity, and craftsmanship, and you will gain exposure to challenging, high-impact projects that contribute to long-term energy infrastructure. The role supports professional growth through demanding, real-world experience and offers the satisfaction of seeing tangible results from your work each day. Work Environment The role is based in a non-residential, outdoor construction environment where work typically runs from sun up to sun down, currently around 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime is mandatory throughout the week and may include Saturdays and Sundays, with the possibility of working up to an 80-hour work week. You will work entirely outdoors, often in extreme temperature conditions, and must be comfortable handling weather exposure for the full day. The job is very fast paced, with daily production goals that require sustained effort and focus. The ground is uneven across much of the site, so you must be comfortable walking and working on irregular terrain for extended periods while using standard construction and electrical tools.
