We are seeking an experienced Electrical Mechanic to perform electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on commercial electrical projects. The Electrical Mechanic is responsible for completing assigned work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, applicable electrical codes, and company standards. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on electrical experience, can work independently when required, and is able to read drawings, identify electrical issues, and complete installations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment
Install conduit, raceways, wirings, panels, fixtures, devices, disconnects, and related electrical components
Bend and install EMT, rigid conduit, and other raceway systems as required
Pull, terminate, splice, and identify electrical conductors
Install and connect electrical panels, breakers, switches, receptacles, lighting and other electrical equipment
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and project documentation
Perform electrical troubleshooting and identify the cause of system or equipment problems
Use electrical testing equipment and hand and power tools safely and properly
Complete assigned work in accordance with applicable NEC requirements, project specifications, and company quality standards
Verify installations for proper operation and workmanship
Assist with electrical system testing, startup, and commissioning as required
Identify field conditions or conflicts and communicate them promptly to the Foreman or Project Manager
Determine materials and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks and communicate material needs to Foreman
Maintain an organized and safe work area
Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site specific safety procedures
Properly use and maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials
Complete required daily documentation, timekeeping, and project paperwork accurately
Coordinate professionally with Foreman, Project Managers, other trades, general contractors, inspectors, customers, and other project personnel
Perform additional electrical and job-site duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on electrical field experience
Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods and electrical systems
Working knowledge of NEC requirements and applicable electrical safety requirements
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Experience installing conduit, wiring, electrical panels, lighting, devices, and related electrical equipment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a crew
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physically demanding work in active construction and service environments
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work for extended periods
Ability to climb and work from ladders, lifts, elevated work areas
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment commonly associated with electrical work
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and job-site conditions
Position Expectations:
The Electrical Mechanic is expected to demonstrate electrical skills, dependable attendance, quality workmanship, and a commitment to workplace safety. Employees in this position should be able to complete assigned electrical work efficiently while maintaining company standards and communicating any job-site issues, material needs, or potential delays to their supervisor.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
