Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical work complies with all safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, interpret schematics and blueprints, and utilize a wide range of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality electrical solutions. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial and industrial settings using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation projects. Conduct inspections using Ohmmeters and other testing devices to ensure proper functioning of electrical components. Follow all safety protocols related to high voltage and low voltage electrical work, adhering strictly to NEC standards. Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including incident reports and inspection logs. Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced electricians when required. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities. Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and schematics. Commercial electrician experience preferred, with knowledge of construction site safety practices. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical systems. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and high voltage systems. Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, along with power tools like drills and saws. Familiarity with NEC standards for safe electrical installations. Ability to use testing equipment such as Ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues. Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability to various environments including renovation projects. Basic knowledge of low voltage wiring for security systems or communication networks is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in all aspects of electrical work.
