AM Pay Rate:
Up to $31.50 with $2.00 Shift Premium
ROLE PURPOSE
Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This includes plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and general facility support while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and facility equipment. Install and repair plumbing systems, including piping, drains, fixtures, and natural gas lines. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial electrical systems, including panels, circuit breakers, conduit, three-phase motors, transformers, and lighting systems. Read and interpret electrical prints and schematics and use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and clamp meters. Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems, air compressors, and air dryers. Operate, inspect, and perform minor repairs on forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and utility connections, including electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems. Perform general facility maintenance and repairs to support safe and efficient plant operations. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements, and maintain compliance with plant safety standards. Complete preventative maintenance activities, maintenance work orders, and related documentation. Respond to emergency maintenance call-ins and perform other maintenance duties as assigned. General Responsibilities Disconnect and reinstall all electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing connections. Physically move, load/unload, place, level, and anchor equipment as necessary. Recognize and correct safety or regulatory violations; consistently follow plant safety policies (especially lockout/tag out) and use required PPE. Work with Fire Department, Sprinkler Contractors, and Security Contractors to test, install, repair, and maintain systems. Maintain dock seals, man doors, repair wall/floor cracks, mitigate air and pest infiltration. Support AIB/Food Defense activities through regular inspections and documentation. Perform housekeeping of maintenance areas to plant standards. Enter and complete maintenance work orders as directed. Perform other similar or related duties as assigned. Be available for off-hours emergency call-in and occasional out-of-town travel (typically 5% per year). Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. PC literate. Qualified to work with Industrial Electricity (formal coursework preferred). Technical background and experience in all aspects of facility maintenance. General office computer skills including email and word processing. Ability to operate a forklift and material handling equipment. Self-motivated with strong initiative and ingenuity. Effective communicator who can work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to solicit work from suppliers and contractors when needed.
