Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Residential Service Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential settings, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes. Responsibilities Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on residential electrical systems to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Install, repair, and upgrade electrical wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and panels in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and repair work. Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations for various residential projects. Utilize hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to perform precise electrical work safely. Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety procedures, and industry best practices. Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction during service appointments. Qualifications Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on residential service work; industrial or commercial experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes. Experience reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and blueprints reading skills. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high-voltage wiring, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and circuit testers effectively. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring installation in renovation or new construction projects; construction site experience is advantageous. Knowledge of low voltage systems and commercial electrical systems is preferred. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents during installation or repairs. Additional handyman skills like frame carpentry or general construction experience are beneficial for versatile project support.
