Job Summary Electrical and Mechanical technician in chemical manufacturing facility. Position will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, pumps, material handling equipment, blending/mixing systems, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnosing, repairing and testing industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems PLC's controls, HMI's Networks (EtherNet/IP) and electrical field devices (photo eyes, proxes, encoders, limit switches etc.) Utilize standard electrical test equipment to perform equipment test using established procedures and write, update and clarify test procedures. Help train others to conduct these tests properly. Performing preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required on both production equipment and facilities equipment. Complete assigned work orders and document all tests. Troubleshoot and identify root cause and make recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Follow all safety, health, and environmental procedures and protocols including Lock-Tag-Verify, elevated work and fall protection, confined space, forklift operation, and hot-work standards. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as prescribed by OEM documentation and internal maintenance programs. Safely and quickly recover servos, encoders, safety circuits, filling equipment, cappers, labelers, case packers and palletizers. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, relays, contactors, limit switches, photo eyes, sensors, and control circuits operating at 24 V

DC, 120 V AC, 240 V

AC, and 480 V 3-phase. Diagnose, configure, parametrize, and troubleshoot variable-frequency drives (VFDs) and interface with PLCs (Allen-Bradley /Rockwell preferred) for basic logic adjustments and fault tracing. Inspect, rebuild, and align mechanical assemblies such as pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and drive systems to maintain design tolerances. Troubleshoot and service hydraulic and pneumatic circuits including valves, regulators, cylinders, and proportional controls. Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication in support of mechanical repairs or equipment modifications. Utilize precision measurement tools, alignment lasers, and test instruments to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to OEM standards. Maintain accurate maintenance records, communicate irregularities, and coordinate resolution of abnormalities with the planning and production departments. Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the refinement of preventive maintenance programs through analysis of performance data. Must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. High-speed filling/packaging experience preferred. Identify root causes and implement repairs that prevent repeat equipment failures. Find electrical faults, understand machine sequence, restore production safely and stop failures from returning.

EXPERIENCE

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of plant safety systems such as Lock-out-Tag-out, elevated work and fall protection, forklift safety, and hot-work authorization. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480 V 3-phase, including controls, sensors, and power distribution. Proven experience in Allen-Bradley /Rockwell PLC troubleshooting and VFD programming. Ability to read, interpret, and update electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, including proportional and directional valve assemblies. Skilled in mechanical alignment, bearing replacement, and precision assembly techniques. Demonstrated critical-thinking ability with strong root-cause analysis and corrective-action skills. Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or as part of a cross-functional team. 3 - 5 years of plant maintenance experience with electrical certifications preferred Working knowledge of programmable controllers and AC/DC drives PLC programming Industrial control wiring experience Ability to read and interpret instrument drawings and control schematics

Pay:

$39.00 - $44.00 per hour
