This position is ideal for an electrician looking to build on their commercial construction experience and work on a variety of new construction projects. The Construction Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on commercial construction projects. This position performs electrical work according to project plans, specifications, applicable codes, and company safety standards while working closely with the Foreman and other members of the construction team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and systems on commercial construction projects. Install and terminate conduit, wire, cable, panels, disconnects, lighting, devices, and other electrical components. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. Perform electrical installations accurately and efficiently according to project requirements. Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit and pull and terminate wire and cable. Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and properly. Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems and correcting installation issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company, OSHA, and jobsite safety requirements. Communicate effectively with the Foreman, Superintendent, coworkers, and other trades on the jobsite. Work independently when assigned while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Assist apprentices and less-experienced electricians with tasks and provide guidance when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods and construction practices. Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints and plans. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in the field. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical safety practices. Dependable attendance and reliable transportation. Ability to work in various construction environments and conditions. Electrical license or Journeyman license preferred for higher-level positions.
