Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various residential and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects such as renovations, new construction, and system upgrades, utilizing your strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, and commercial electrical systems. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality electrical solutions. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential environments using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. Perform electrical diagnostics to identify issues within complex commercial electrical systems and implement effective solutions promptly. Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely while adhering to all electrical safety procedures and NFPA 70 standards. Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to verify circuit integrity and troubleshoot electrical problems efficiently. Work on low voltage systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control panels, and other automation devices. Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and industry best practices during installation and maintenance activities. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in residential and commercial electrical work. Extensive experience working with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, and commercial electrical systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards, local electrical codes, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Hands-on experience with high voltage installations, low voltage wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control systems. Familiarity with construction site procedures, renovation projects, framing carpentry skills are a plus. Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow detailed blueprints for precise installation or repairs. Commitment to safety procedures related to electrical work on construction sites or industrial facilities.
