In this role, you will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable. You will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to interpret blueprints, review construction drawings, and analyze material requirements. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material and labor requirements Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate to prepare detailed cost proposals and bids Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and managing quantities using Bluebeam and spreadsheets Assist in managing project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and updating estimates as project scope evolves Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms Support project managers in reviewing contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments to ensure accurate cost control Prepare comprehensive spreadsheets for cost management, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads Participate in construction site visits to gather on-site data, review progress, and verify quantities for accurate estimation Communicate effectively with clients regarding project scope, pricing details, and potential cost-saving opportunities Contribute to the review of construction management software data to ensure alignment with project estimates Experience Previous experience or internship in construction estimating or a related field within the construction industry is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential Familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Xactimate, or other estimating software tools is highly desirable Solid understanding of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction documents Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for creating detailed spreadsheets and reports Knowledge of construction management processes including cost control, material estimating, and project budgeting Hands-on experience or familiarity with construction site operations enhances your ability to estimate accurately Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are vital for success in this role Join us as a Junior Project Estimator and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in commercial construction!
