Type:

full-time Morrow Meadows is accepting applications for an experienced Low Voltage Estimator with a strong background in Fire Life Safety Systems to join our growing team. This role will primarily focus on estimating commercial fire alarm systems, while also supporting additional low voltage scopes including access control, video surveillance, structured cabling, and related technologies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in reviewing construction documents, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting project pursuits from bid through project turnover.

Responsibilities:

Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial fire alarm systems Perform quantity takeoffs for devices, cabling, pathways, and associated infrastructure Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain pricing and technical information Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, and value engineering opportunities Prepare proposal clarifications, exclusions, and scope narratives Collaborate with operations, project management, and business development teams Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks as required Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical pricing Support design-build and negotiated project opportunities Manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in low voltage systems, with primary experience in commercial fire alarm systems Strong working knowledge of electrical systems within commercial or industrial construction environments Solid understanding of commercial fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes Experience with design-build estimating and negotiated projects Familiarity with multi-system low voltage integration Experience coordinating with general contractors, consultants, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, and low voltage drawings Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, and applicable fire/life safety standards Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment NICET certification RCDD certification Manufacturer certifications related to fire alarm or low voltage systems
