Asphalt Sales & Estimator Triple H Construction Inc San Bernardino, CA Job Details Full-time $135,000 - $200,000 a year 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Sales negotiation Customer communication Construction sales Outdoor work experience Business development Driver's License Bidding project phase Proposal writing Estimating construction project budgets Prospecting Cost estimate preparation Productivity software Material cost estimating Time management Full Job Description Position Summary The Asphalt Sales & Estimator is responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, visiting project sites, preparing accurate estimates, and securing asphalt paving and maintenance work. This position works closely with customers, field crews, subcontractors, and management to ensure projects are properly estimated, priced, and communicated from initial inquiry through completion. Key Responsibilities Generate new business through customer outreach, referrals, networking, and follow-up with potential clients. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers. Visit job sites to evaluate project conditions, scope of work, measurements, access, and potential challenges. Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for asphalt paving, repairs, overlays, seal coating, striping, and related work. Review plans, specifications, and project requirements when applicable. Obtain and review material, equipment, subcontractor, and labor pricing to develop accurate proposals. Prepare and present professional proposals and estimates to customers. Follow up on estimates and bids to answer questions and help secure projects. Communicate project scope, pricing, and special requirements clearly with customers and internal teams. Coordinate with operations and project management to ensure sold work is accurately handed off for scheduling and production. Identify additional work opportunities and recommend appropriate asphalt solutions to customers. Maintain accurate records of leads, estimates, proposals, customer communications, and awarded projects. Monitor market conditions and competitor pricing to help maintain competitive bids. Ensure all pricing and proposals follow company standards and approved pricing guidelines. Communicate any unusual or out-of-scope work with management before committing to pricing. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, construction sales, estimating, or a related field. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, repair, maintenance, and construction practices. Strong understanding of measurements, quantities, materials, production, and job costs. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications preferred. Strong communication, customer service, negotiation, and follow-up skills. Ability to accurately prepare estimates and proposals. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency with computers, email, estimating software, and Microsoft Office or similar programs. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel to customer and project locations as needed. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to travel to and walk active construction/job sites. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, climb, and navigate uneven terrain at project locations. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors, and management. Performance Expectations Success in this position is measured by accurate estimating, quality customer relationships, consistent follow-up, new business development, profitable project sales, and effective communication with the operations team.
Pay:
$135,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
