Overview Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Estimator and play a pivotal role in shaping successful electrical construction projects from initial concept to final budget. This energetic position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in electrical systems, construction estimating, and project management to deliver accurate, competitive bids that drive project success. You will collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure precise cost estimation, adherence to electrical codes, and seamless project execution. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications to develop detailed estimates. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools to prepare comprehensive project bids. Conduct material cost estimating and analyze electrical system components to ensure accurate pricing aligned with project scope. Manage cost control efforts throughout the bidding process and during project execution to stay within budget parameters. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through negotiation to secure optimal pricing and contract terms. Ensure all estimates comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and local electrical building codes for safety and compliance. Review construction drawings for electrical systems, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions to optimize project costs. Assist in estimating construction project budgets by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that facilitate effective planning and scheduling. Maintain organized records of all estimate documents, contracts, and correspondence for audit readiness. Experience Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and building codes. Hands-on construction site experience coupled with construction management knowledge enhances estimate accuracy. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar platforms is essential; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements ensures estimates meet safety standards. Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective client communication foster successful contract agreements. Ability to review construction drawings critically for potential issues affecting costs or scheduling.
