Job Description
Job Description Dorsett Controls is seeking an Inside Sales / Technical Estimator to support SCADA and control system projects for utilities and industrial clients. In this role, you will qualify inbound leads, interpret technical specifications, and prepare accurate quotes for integrated hardware and software solutions. You will collaborate with engineering, review drawings and bills of materials, and ensure proposals meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. The position includes maintaining CRM records, following up with customers, and providing pre sales technical support in a responsive, customer-focused team environment. Responsibilities Qualify inbound and outbound sales leads for SCADA and control system solutions Review technical specifications, drawings, and RFQs to develop accurate estimates Prepare detailed proposals, quotes, and bills of materials for hardware and software systems Collaborate with engineering and project teams to validate scope, costs, and assumptions Maintain CRM records, track opportunities, and manage sales pipeline activity Provide pre-sales technical support and respond to customer questions on products and applications Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to obtain current pricing and lead times Support contract review and handoff to project implementation teams Assist in developing standard pricing tools, templates, and estimating guidelines Participate in customer calls, demos, and presentations as needed Required Skills Technical sales Estimating and quoting SCADA systems Industrial control systems PLC/RTU familiarity Reading technical drawings and schematics CRM software Microsoft Excel and cost modeling Proposal writing Industrial networking basics
