Well-established electrical contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial, and public-sector work across New York in need of an experienced estimator who can own the process from takeoff to bid day. Successful candidate will work closely with project managers, field leadership, and ownership to price complex projects accurately and competitively. RESPONSIBILITIES
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete and competitive electrical estimates Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scope Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes Prepare formal bid proposals, budgets, and cost analyses Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value engineering opportunities Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and site visits Coordinate with project managers during project turnover to ensure estimate integrity Maintain organized bid files, pricing records, and document archives Assist with change order pricing and ongoing cost analysis during construction Monitor labor and material market trends to keep pricing current Manage multiple concurrent bids while meeting all submission deadlines
Q UALIFICATIONS
10+ years of hands-on electrical estimating experience Deep knowledge of electrical construction methods, systems, and materials Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents Project experience across commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, healthcare, or multifamily sectors Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with NEC standards and applicable New York codes Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to hit deadlines Experience with AccuBid, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar estimating platforms Field experience in electrical construction — you understand what it takes to build it
SALARY:
