The ideal candidate will have hands-on estimating experience in the structural and/or miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection industry and be comfortable managing the estimating process from initial bid review through proposal submission. Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs for steel fabrication and erection Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, trucking, subcontractors, and other project requirements Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Identify project scope, exclusions, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities Prepare competitive and accurate bid proposals Review project requirements and coordinate with management, project managers, fabrication personnel, and field operations Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate with general contractors and customers as needed Maintain organized estimating and bid records Assist with bid follow-up and project handoff after award Qualifications Previous estimating experience with a structural steel fabricator/erector background strongly preferred Strong understanding of structural steel and miscellanious metals fabrication and erection Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications Knowledge of steel fabrication processses, erection requirements, labor costs, and construction practices Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience estimating public and private construction projects is a plus What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Benefits package Paid time off and holidays Stable, established work environment This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced steel estimator who understands the fabrication and erection side of the business and is looking to become an important part of an established team.
