Position Summary Tech 2000 Woodworks is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning commercial architectural millwork and casework estimating. The Junior Estimator will work closely with our estimating team to review drawings and specifications, prepare takeoffs, assist with estimates, and develop a strong understanding of how projects are priced and built. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, comfortable working with numbers and drawings, and willing to learn the commercial millwork industry. Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs for commercial casework and millwork.
- Obtain and organize material and vendor pricing.
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier quote comparisons.
- Enter and maintain estimating information in company systems.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and potential project risks.
- Assist with scope reviews and estimate preparation.
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation.
- Participate in project handoff from estimating/preconstruction to project management and engineering.
- Learn Tech 2000's estimating standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications Required:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret basic architectural drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to learn new software and processes.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with a team.
Preferred:
- Construction, architectural, engineering, or manufacturing background.
- Experience reading architectural drawings.
- Previous estimating or takeoff experience.

Understanding the connection between estimating, project management, engineering, production, and installation will be an important part of the employee's development.
