Job Description

Description The Estimator will serve as the lead for remedial construction, industrial maintenance, and waste disposal proposals. Examples of typical scopes of work include remedial excavation/disposal, storage tank removal, erosion control installation, stormwater infrastructure installation, capping, piping installation, hydro-excavation, tank cleaning, line jetting, confined space entry, and select demolition.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares and estimates costs for projects by studying plans and specifications. Attends pre-bid site meetings with project management team members. Determines the appropriate equipment, materials, subcontractors, and methodology to complete the proposed scopes of work. Assists or leads the written proposal preparation process. Transitions awarded projects to the project management and operations teams. Presents proposed approach, production rates, and project details to management team for review. Works closely with facility/plant personnel, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors. Navigates and understands federal/state/county environmental regulatory requirements. Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
Requirements Position Requirements:
High School Degree or equivalent required College Degree preferred At least 5 years prior experience in a similar position Proficiency in analyzing and breaking down remedial and/or industrial scopes of work [ND1] Experience interpreting plans and project specifications Ability to independently manage customer relationships Demonstrated experience in personnel management Technically competent with Microsoft Office computer software. Experienced at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly, efficiently and professionally. DOT medical card issuance required Successful results of pre-employment background, motor vehicle report, drug screening and physical required Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments within the organization. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Physical Requirements:
Always requires near visual acuity, speaking and listening. Frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, grasping and reaching. May occasionally require lifting up to 10 lbs., pulling and/or pushing and carrying. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects. Sitting for extended periods of time. Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients. Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings. Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
